Co-Founded by a National Leader in Psycho-Oncology

Cerula Care was co-founded by Dr. Kyle Lavin, a nationally recognized psychiatrist and psycho-oncologist—one of only about 100 specialists in the U.S. uniquely trained at the intersection of cancer care and mental health.

Dr. Lavin’s expertise and leadership anchor Cerula’s mission to deliver safe, evidence-based behavioral health care within oncology settings.

Clinically led, evidence-driven —every patient’s 16-week care program is regularly reviewed in psychiatric consultations to ensure safety, quality, and alignment with their oncology treatment plan.

Refer a patient directly from your EHR and we’ll reach out to them within 24 hours for enrollment.
In an intake, a specialist will assess your patient’s needs and create a customized care plan.
Our team will collaborate with you monthly, reviewing care progress and any medications recommended by our psycho-oncologists.
We follow CMS guidelines for collaborative care billing, and we’ll partner with you every step of the way.

Research

Science tells us that close collaboration between behavioral health and physical health providers results in better outcomes.

In fact, we recently demonstrated our considerable impact in a study with one of our referring partners.

Why the Name “Cerula Care”?

By evoking the bright tones of cerulean blue, the name Cerula Care inspires optimism, positivity, and motivation. Chronic illness can feel limiting and isolating, and Cerula Care strives to help patients and providers change the ways we think about, feel about, and approach holistic care.

“Cerula” is also the name of a piece of wax historically used to erase passages from printed texts. For too long, stigma and taboos about behavioral health have held back our ability to give chronically ill patients the care they deserve.

So, we’re using cerula to erase harmful biases from conversations about behavioral health to create a more caring and compassionate ecosystem of care.
